Hi GoFish Cam Users,

Firmware for your GoFish Cam will be updated from time to time. Come to this page to check for the latest update. Firmware is installed on your GoFish Cam using the procedure below.

To complete the procedure, you will need:

  • A computer
  • Your GoFish Cam
  • The supplied usb cable

Instructions:

    1. Download the latest firmware zip file from the bottom of this page.
    2. Unzip the update file to any location on your computer, it should create 2 items, 1)"SPHOST.brn"     2)"download folder"
    3. Make sure your camera is fully charged
    4. Turn on your camera and attach it by the usb to your computer. The camera should show up as a folder or drive on your computer. If it doesn't, use a microSD card reader to load the files directly to the microSD card itself.
    5. Copy the 2 downloaded items directly to the folder or drive that shows up in step 4
    6. Properly eject the drive on your computer, and then disconnect the camera from your computer.
    7. Turn on the camera, at first you will see the green light, but after a few seconds you should see blue and orange flashing lights for ~1 minute, do not disturb the camera during this time.

WHEN THE LIGHTS TURN OFF, YOUR CAMERA IS NOW UPDATED, BUT YOU NEED TO TAKE THE FILES OFF THE SD CARD BEFORE YOU CAN USE IT AGAIN.

    8. Although the camera is already off, put the power switch to the off position.
    9. While the camera is off, connect the camera to your computer with the micro usb cable. Then, while plugged in, turn the camera on by moving the power switch to the on position. The camera should show up as a folder or drive on your computer again.
    10. Open the drive, locate the firmware files 1)"SPHOST.brn"    2)"download folder" and delete them by dragging to your trash bin on your computer. Before ejecting the drive from your computer, make sure you empty your trash bin so that the files are fully removed.
    11. Properly eject the drive, and disconnect camera.
    12. Turn camera off and then on again.

SEE DETAILS ON THE LATEST UPDATE HERE:

UPDATE 1 - TIME STAMP FIXED

Some units were experiencing improper time stamps on your video. With this update, once you set the time by simply connecting to the mobile app,  the video timestamps will now stay correct after turning the camera off.

    UPDATE 2 - SAVE PRE-CONFIGURED SETTINGS
With this update, you can pre-set the following settings from the mobile app, and when you turn the camera off and back on, it will automatically record using these settings (even if you don't use the app): Resolution setting, White balance setting, Logo/watermark setting, Upside down (video orientation) setting, Clip-time setting

UPDATE 3 - FROZEN CAMERA ISSUE RESOLVED

There was a couple bugs that froze some cameras and required a manual reset to turn the unit off. With this update, we have removed the bugs we found that caused the need for a manual reset.  Please note, with this new update, when connected to the mobile app, the red record button on the camera is disabled, so when connected to the app, use the app controls, and not the red button on the camera to start/stop recording, and for record mode changing.

UPDATE 4 - NEW FEATURE! CLIP TIME CHANGING

Normally, your camera records in 1 minute increments. With this update, in the camera settings on the mobile app, a new setting called ‘Video Clip Length’ was added to allow the user to change the record length of clips.

There are now 5 options: 1 minute, 3 minute, 5 minute, 10 minute and continuous (long clips depending on the micro sd card, usually 25 minutes or longer, and it will end when the battery dies or when your memory card is full)

NOTE: There is a mobile app update that is also needed for this update. Please make sure you have at least iOS version 1.29 or android version 1.30 from the app stores.
